The sixth Chakra, Third Eye Chakra, also called Ajana, is located between the eyebrows, in the cleft of the forehead associated with pituitary gland, eyes, brain, with indigo and purple colors, represents the perception, intuition and knowledge.
Its name means "Command". Sometimes called the "Eye of Shiva" or "Eye of Wisdom." It is related to the syllable Ohm, representing the beginning and end of all things. It is from this center that the person harmonizes the forces of Himself and achieves a balance between Yin and Yan. It belongs to the spirit world, where the higher and permanent residents principles of man. This is the chakra of the domain. This is where you reach the integration of the personality, above the dualism of human psychology. From here you develop a sense of intuition to know which direction you want to go.
The Egyptians used it to anticipate the future. For them, only the pharaohs had this extrasensory organ of vision, which they called the eye of Horus. Currently, sharing the heritage of this ancient civilization, many attribute to "Eye of Horus", the ownership of protection against malicious eye, as these ancient civilizations believed that it possessed the qualities to look down the evil influences canceling negative.
Another civilization that dealt with the existence of the Third Eye was the Hindu. Tibetan lamas, in an attempt to achieve inner development through the ability of the mind, considered the Third Eye as a point of projection into the cosmic consciousness. The Aztecs tried to wake it to get a direct view of the invisible. The truth is that the Third Eye was considered the "Organ of the Soul" in many civilizations, already extincted, they all agreed to locate it in the middle of the eyebrows on the forehead.
Ajna or Third Eye or Front relates to the pineal gland. Ajna is the chakra of time, perception, and light. The pineal gland is a light sensitive gland that produces the hormone melatonin, which regulates sleep mechanisms. Symbolized by a lotus with two petals and the indigo color.
The two eyes give you dimension in the normal world, the Third Eye gives you a vision, depth and dimension of the subtle worlds. Its function is to see the unseen and the unknown. It is the center of intuition and our direct connection to the infinite source of wisdom.
THIRD EYE ACTIVATION
We can see only what exists in our physical world. Opening the Third Eye enables us to see without using the two physical eyes. After reaching a high level of cultivation, one will acquire a true eye and you can do with the True Eye, Third Eye or the one in the pineal body.
